Forgiveness
Day 7 of 21
07 May 2022
“Today I forgive you and set you free,
Free from all the pain which you were causing me.
Forgiving is not Forgetting,
It’s freeing up my power without upsetting.
Remembering without anger and being kind,
Allowing healing to my body, soul and mind.
In forgiveness I find a new place with ease,
A place which gives me peace.” By ReiJyotKi
Forgiveness – what does that mean to you? Do you forgive easily? Or, do you hold on to things? If you do hold on to things who does it hurt the most – You or the person that you cannot forgive?
All my life I saw my mum forgive people and gave people many chances. She did this really well, with dignity and a smile. She was always the bigger person. However, there were instances and people who she could not forgive. I guess after years of doing this, some people started taking advantage of her and taken her for granted. Despite this, I believe that what she did for the majority of her life, to forgive, resonates with me.
As hard as it can be to forgive, in forgiveness, you set free that attachment which binds you with the other person. This way, you can be at peace with yourself.
