The significance of the Reiki symbols
Reiki symbols are used by Reiki practitioners to assist them to focus on the Universal Energy which helps to improve the energy flow. There are many symbols in Reiki, however, there are four main symbols which are used during a healing session or anytime it is needed. These Japanese Kanji characters at one time were not only sacred but were also secret and only disclosed by a Reiki master to their student.
The four main Reiki symbols
Cho Ku Rei – The Power Symbol
This acts as a power booster which helps increase the flow of energy and intensifies the power of the other Reiki symbols. It is also used to help you attract the things you wish for in life such as work and helps with personal and business relationships.
Sei Hei Ki – The Harmony Symbol (Mental/Emotional)
This acts as a protective, clearing, purifying, and balancing properties symbol and is also known as the protection symbol. It is used to heal mental and emotional conditions such as improving memory, eliminating bad habits, improving relationships, relieving headaches and much more.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen – The Distance Healing / Connection Symbol
This symbol is used when sending distance healing Reiki. It means having no present, past or future. It is very powerful and allows practitioners to send healing through time and space.
Dai Ko Myo – The Master Symbol
This symbol is only used by Reiki masters and has the most power. It vibrates at the highest frequency and works with subtle energies bringing real spiritual change – Soul healing. The symbol means “Great Enlightenment” or Bright Shining Light”.
